Man U released their away kit for next season on Wednesday.
60 quid for a 'regular' shirt and 90 quid for an 'authentic' shirt. (35 quid for 'authentic' shorts')
Fuck knows what the difference is, and why it costs 50% more. 60 quid is a total joke anyway.
Novel way to extort yet more money out of fans.

It came to my attention recently that you can get shirts that DO NOT have the advertising OBSCENITY on them.
I GREATLY approve of this, and am almost tempted to get one myself.

Ii noticed that Chelsea introduced this nasty scam last week. I see that both them and manure use Adidas.
Who in their right minds pays £60 for a nasty piece of polyester?
But to spend 50% more for something which, to the untrained eye, looks identical, is beyond mental.
When you consider how premier league clubs are awash with tv cash, you start to realise that those who run them are now pretty much immoral.

The biggest difference in the hockey ones were always the fabric: heavier multiple layers for dealing with sweat and providing a little bit of slice-prevention.
They also had the fight strap sewn in. Not something you need or want if you wear it to a bar.

As b6ny b says they are great value for kids.
I don't wear replica ones but if I did I would want a proper one rather than that polyester shit they sell.

Been doing it the States for years..my sons wanted Philadelphia Flyers Ice hockey shirts...they asked if I wanted 'Authentic' ones and they were $150 each-boys sizes- and that was 20 years ago *c*nts*

Interesting article.
Minimal differences!
Seems to be mostly to save a gram or two of weight and have a bit more ventilation. I read on another article most 'Authentic' shirts- nike excluded- have printed crests to save a bit of weight (so therefore the sewn on one is probably superior) and the sponsor and name/numbers are bigger on the authentic ones to show up better on television.
More fool those who want an authentic one considering the added cost, I reckon!
